Vicem Hoang Mai Cement receives approval to construct plant

Despite issuing a request to relocate last year, authorities of Vietnam’s Nghe An province have now granted approval for Vicem Hoang Mai Cement JSC to develop its Hoang Mai 2 facility in the area, according to Viet Nam News. Therefore, the company will construct the plant in the originally intended location of Hoang Mai 2 industrial park, Quynh Vinh commune. Once fully operational, the plant will have a 0.92Mta clinker capacity and a capability to produce 1.15Mta of cement.

Vicem Hoang Mai Cement JSC has announced plans to build a cement factory at an estimated cost of VND10.8trn (US$480m) in the central Vietnam province of Nghe An. The Hoang Mai Cement 2 factory will be constructed in the 2016-20 period in two phases, providing more than 2Mta of cement after the completion of each phase. The plant will serve the central region as well as export markets.

Vicem Hoang Mai Cement posts first-quarter loss

Vicem Hoang Mai Cement JSC (HOM) has posted a first quarter loss of VND10bn (US$476,100) attributed to increased costs. The company closed 2012 with a net profit of VND112.72bn (US$5.39m) on revenue of VND1.53trn last year, down 13 per cent and up 8.07 per cent YoY, respectively. HOM is seeking approval from its parent company, Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation o revise up its 2013 pretax profit target by 4.65 per cent to VND90bn (US$4.29m) from the initial VND86 billion.

Vicem Hoang Mai Cement revises down 2012 profit

Vicem Hoang Mai Cement JSC (HOM), listed on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, said it made an estimated pretax profit of VND66bn (US$3.17m) in the first 10 months of this year, according to Chief Accountant Tran Minh Son said. HOM did not give revenue figures in Jan-Sept, the Dau tu Chung khoan newspaper reported. High prices of input materials were blamed for the company’s profit fall, Son said.
